Tony has exhibited in the Percival Portrait Painting Prize since 2010. In 2014 his work in both the drawing and oil paint sections of the Townsville Art Society Annual Awards won.
He has been a member of the Umbrella Studio, Friends of Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, Townsville Art Society and PressNorth printmakers for several years, has exhibited in many group exhibitions, and also supported the Friends of St James’ Cathedral Townsville in their successful fundraising exhibitions to reroof the cathedral.
Jen Loffman M.A., Exhibitions Assistant at Aberystwyth Arts Centre wrote of Tony’s work in his 2015 residency at Aberystwyth ‘….Tony’s approach has been inspiring. He took on the project with absolute sincerity, treating it as time for personal artistic development. He fully embraced that feeling of being in an unfamiliar place, and, showing no signs of anxiety or alienation, he gave us a celebration of various individuals and the roles they play in our community’.
More recently, Tony has participated in group Pop Up shops in the very successful 2017 and 2019 North Queensland Arts festival, as well as developing an individual drawing demonstration model which he pioneered at a recent 2019 open day in the community, with great success.
